Treaty of Tordesillas
Signed at Tordesillas on June 7, 1494. Divided newly discovered land between Spain and Portugal along line that was located approximately halfway between the Cape Verde islands.

Company where individuals own different stocks; partnership and corporation
Colonies/mother country
Colony: an area under the political control of another country
Mother Country: country controlling the colony, usually from a distance
Entrepreneur
Person who organizes a business, possibly taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so
Capitalist
Country where companies that make or transport goods are owned by individual people and companies rather than by the government.
