A
  1. Sociability - Women are assumed to be verbal, sensitive, kind, social etc
  2. Popularity - The presence of needing to be on top of relevant trends
  3. Physical Appearance - Our culture values women most for their appearance
  4. Becoming a wife/mother - It is assumed that every girl wants to be a mom and a wife; boys do not receive the same expectation

  1. Independence - The expectation for boys to be autonomous and motivated early on
  2. Selective emotional suppression - Men have to be fearless and aggressive but cannot be vulnerable or sensitive etc
  3. Aspiring and achieving
  4. Becoming an earner/provider - Men are expected to know how they will have security in their future
