- Identity diffusion - no commitment nor exploration of identity
- Identity foreclosure - identity commitment but no exploration
- Identity moratorium - no identity commitment but has explored
- Identity achievement - both commitment and exploration of identity
What is adolescent egocentrism?
Excessive self-consciousness, self-centric thinking
What is the term that refers to adolescents’ tendency to believe others are always watching and evaluating them?
Imaginary audience

What is self-esteem?
A person’s judgement and feelings about their own worth
What are 2 sources of self esteem?
- From actual capabilities/skills
- How respected people view them
What kind of praise is most effective?
Praising effort instead of ability
What is prejudice?
A view of other people based on their group membership, usually negative
What are 2 ways to overcome prejudice?
- Working in diverse, mixed groups
- Imagining hypothetical situations
