what are the 4 types of measurement ?

A

1- Nominal Scale
– Variables are named.
- Classifications of distributions
- No magnitude of order
- E.g. ethnicity (White- British, Afro-Caribbean, Asian, etc.
- Variable re names

2- Ordinal Scale
- Any scale that is ordered
- Examples” aggression (weak, moderate intensity, strong)
- VARIABLES ARE NAMED AND ORDERED

3- Interval Scale
- Any scale of measurement with no absolute zero point ( MEANING NOTHING)equal intervals
- Examples: temperature - ZERO IS STILL A TEMPERATE.
- VARIABLES ARE NAMES AND ORDERED, AND PROPORTIONATE.

4- Ratio Scale
- Any scale with equal intervals, absolute zero point
- Examples e.g. weight and height.
- Variables are names and ordered and proportionate and has an absoloute zero.
