Lab Experiments

Take place in a controlled environment. Researcher manipulates IV and DV. Maintains control of extraneous variables.

Field Experiments
A
Happens in a natural setting where the researcher manipulates the IV and records the effect on the DV.

Natural Experiments
A
Changes in IV not brought about by the researcher but is not affected by the presence of the researcher. Researcher records effect on DV.

Quasi Experiments
A
Almost an experiment but lacks key factors. IV has not been determined, variables simply exist such as being old or young. Not completely an experiment.
