Looks to show whether or not two variables are associated with each other. Nothing is changed or altered, it is just measuring variables to see if they’re related.

Difference Between Correlations and Experiments
A
Experiments manipulate IV to see the effect on DV. Correlations look at the strength of the relationship between two variables, No manipulation. Results can be either positive, negative, or no relationship.

A
As one variable increases, the other also increases.

As one variable increases, the other decreases.
