Distinguish between Jesus as “begotten not made” and the Holy Spirit as proceeding from the Father and Son.
Begotten = Generation of the person of Jesus from the essence of God (the Son eternally exisits)
Proceeding = From the Father & the Son (H.S. eternally exists)

What contemporary theological positions raise serious questions for the traditional doctrine of the Trinity?
Mormons - every becomes a god
Unitarians - all roads lead to God
Jehovah Witnesses - deny trinity; they beleive Jesus was created
