referall for EMG is 2-3 weeks with no improvement
surgery is symptoms persisting 6-8 weeks from onset

dianostic study of choice for trigeminal neuralgia
it is a clinical diagnosis, but if you suspect its due to a underlying cause then use MRI w/ or w/o
treated w carbamazepine
trigeminal neuralgia
refractory = surgery or botox
treated with prednisone
bells palsy (only indicated w/i 5 days of s/s)
add on valcyclovir if lesion, lack of forehead movement or incomplete eye closure
add eye lubricant and eye patch iflack of eye closure.
