Q

Nous recherchons un entrepreneur/consultant ou une entreprise capable d’adopter une approche global pour rendre l’ensemble de la propriété plus économe en énergie et plus confortable, tout en minimisant les émissions.

A

We are looking for a contractor/consultant or company who can take a comprehensive approach to making the entire building more energy efficient and comfortable, while minimizing emissions.

We use a lot of electricity and will need to install the maximum number of solar panels, if any, permitted by the patrimonie of the property.

I am interested in exploring any subterranean options (thermal, heat pump?) that are efficient.

The stone house is large and probably needs insulation where possible. Windows and doors may need improved sealing and double-glazing. There is thick insulation on the floor of the attic, but a huge opening over the stairwell lets a lot of warmth escape from below.

After sealing off the entire building as well as possible, we would also like to make it easy to reduce heat (and cooling) sent to seldom-used areas during extreme cold and extreme hot weather.

We prefer to start with whatever will make the biggest difference in overall energy use and emissions.
