Q

how do you dx traumatic reticulitis

A

eric Williams test - listen @ trachea

withers pinch - abdo pain, should grunt

pole test - lift under belly until grunts (pleurisy or reticulitis)

faeces with straw in (ddx SARA)

WBCC - non specific

expl rumenotomy

Q

motility of vagal indigestion depends on which nerve fibres are damaged - elaborate

A

if dorsasl vagal n damaged = hypOmotility = achalasia of reticulo-omasal orifice & bloat

if pyloric branche of vagal nerve damaged = hypERmotility = achalasia of pylorus & abomasal impaction

Q

what are the signs of traumatic pericarditis

A

inc pulse
in temp
endotoxic shock signs - check mm..
heart sounds: pericardial rub, then quietens (some fluid), when loads of fluid built up - ‘waching machine’
CHF signs (jug dist, visable pulse, submand oedema)
HOPELESS

17
Q

name the 2 types of bloat

A

frothy

free gas

18
Q

desc the differnces in the two types of blpoat

A

frothy - tiny gas bubble - cant eructate this. from clover/Lucerne..
free gas - XS CHO or 2ry to other disease process

19
Q

how do you treat frothy bloat

A

surfactant, oil and exercise - sep the bubbles so can be released

20
Q

how do you tx free gas bloat

A

trochar or stomach tube
