Patient needs blood
What is the goal response when treating shock?
Better skin, vitals, mental status, and urine output
What is definitive treatment for hemorrhagic shock in a patient not responding to fluids?
Surgery
Signs of head trauma
Change in consciousness Asking same questions Can't answer questions Don't remember Agitation
What is Exposure?
Expose patient, check for injury but keep warm
What is to be done during the secondary survey?
Head to toe PE
Re-assess vitals
PMH/PSH/meds/allergies
Address wounds
When to obtain a head CT?
LOC or neuro deficits?
C-collar is on until? What is backboard used for?
C-collar remains on until cleared with exam or imaging.
