what do trade unions do?
trade unions act on behalf of groups of employees in the workforce when negotiating rates of pay and working conditions etc with the employer.
by joining with others and belonging to a union, what does an employee strengthen?
an employee strengthens their bargaining power in a way that wouldn’t be possible if they tried to bargain as an individual.
what can trade unions allow employees and workers to do?
communicate with each other.
trade unions give advice and assistance to individual employees who are having problems with their employer
what is collective bargaining?
the function of having a few people negotiating on behalf of many employees
