How are traction faults identified?
Local fault light (overloads)
Line switch fault light (motors)

What do you have to do to make sure This Car Light is indicating a fault?
Take local park brakes off.
What does the Control Res supply?
Main equipment case
Line breaker case
What pressure does the Control Res store compressed air at?
490kPa
What happens if there is a rupture in the control res or relevant ICs are isolated?
Switches/line breakers remain open and traction power is not available in that car.
Line switch fault light will illuminate
All other cars will power normally
Traction motor cut out switch needs to be put to All Out and TMM submitted
What equipment needs 1500VDC?
Traction motors
Motor Alternators
Air compressors
What positions does the Traction Cut Out switch have?
All In
1&2 Out
3&4 Out
All Out
What key do you use to operate Traction Cut Out switch?
Comeng Controller Key
What button do you press to reset traction faults?
Traction equip reset button
What is the procedure to isolate motors?
MCH to OFF
Place controller key into Traction Motor Cut out switch key hole
Place switch to 1&2 Out. Traction motors 1&2 now isolated.
Press overload reset button
Go for power … If Line Switch does not illuminate fault has been isolated.
If illuminated do same for 3&4 … and then All Out
If Main Switch has been isolated are we allowed to turn it back?
No
