3
Q

What happens when you turn the CG isolating cock?

A

Air is isolated to the CG and it detects 0kPa.

This causes compressors to run continuously

Q

What happens when CG CB is tripped?

A

When a CG is electrically isolated it will not power the compressor contactor circuit

Other CG on train can power it so all compressors will operate.

Q

If you have a faulty Compressor Governor what do you do?

A

Trip CG CB in each car until compressor stops operating.

Only if time permits as compressors are designed to run continuously.

Q

What do you do if you have a MR pipe defect on Leading Motor

A

Turn MR taps in MC and TC

Manually Release SPBs

Lower pantos and elec / pneum isolate

Turn Motors to ALL OUT

Isolate VICERS

Isolate Door Loop Bypass

Trip CG CB

CE opens BVICS on trailing MC to charge BP so train can be powered from leading MC.

Passengers moved to another car.

16
Q

What do you do if MR tank ruptures?

A

Close MR delivery IC

Compressor Contactor isolating switch off

Isolate CG CB

17
Q

What do you do if a flexible MR hose between cars bursts?

A

Close MR end cocks on both sides of affected hose

TMM

18
Q

When running with deflated air suspension what is the speed restriction?

A

Half of the speed for that section to a max of 30 kmh

19
Q

Where does Control Res receive air from?

A

Main Res

20
Q

What pressure is Control Res reduced to?

A

490kPa

21
Q

What happens if Control res air is insufficient?

A

Line breakers won’t close and that MC will not power.

Other MCs will still power

22
Q

What do you do if the Control Res is ruptured?

A

Isolate the Control Res. IN IC

Turn Motor Cut-Out Switch to ALL OUT

23
Q

What do you do if there is a rupture in the pipe on the Line Breaker side of the Control Res.?

A

Isolate the Control Res. OUT IC

Turn Motor Cut-Out Switch to ALL OUT

24
Q

What do you do if Control Res. air is leaking from Trip Latching Lever?

A

Isolate the Trip Gear IC in the Van Cabinet.

Trip would need to be secured in raised position.

25
Q

How do you fix a whistle defect?

A

Operate lever rapidly

Inspect/isolate whistle isolating cock

26
Q

If tone is low are there any restrictions?

A

No

27
Q

What speed do you do past workers?

A

15

28
Q

What do you do over LVLX?

A

Flash high beams/ hazards

No speed restrictions
