“flat abscess”
What are the characteristics of a Toxic Swelling in the Pus Formation stage?
Necrosis - flesh rots and forms pus.
Swelling rises and becomes redder and more painful.

AKA Ulceration Stage
What signs indicate that healing is occurring in the Ulceration Stage?
Non-foul smelling pus.
Swelling quickly recedes.
Rotted flesh is easily removed.
Fever and pain should quickly resolve.
What are bad signs to observe during the Bursting Stage?
If smelly pus and no resolution of pain and fever - more problematic swelling.
What observable signs indicate the Closing Stage of the Toxic Swelling is occuring?
Inner sore reveals healthy flesh that shows signs of new growth.
What signs during the closing stage indicate that proper healing is not occuring?
If the flesh inside the sore is dull, leaks clear or turbid liquid, is slow to produce new flesh and there is abnormal color surrounding the wound, measures must be taken to aid the body to heal the wound.
