Q

How have tourist trends changed recently?

A
  • Seaside resorts used to be the most popular, as a way to get away from the factories.
  • Tourists used to wear smart clothes.
  • Holidays now tend to be longer, as more people get paid holidays.
  • Previously, all factories and shops would be closed at the same time, so there was nothing to do otherwise.
  • Holidays in the UK have gone down lots, whereas holidays abroad have gone up lots, and the number of people generally taking a holiday has gone up slightly.
