Neonate –> chorioretinitis + hydrocephalus + intracranial calcifications; blueberry muffin rash
Rubella

Mom –> rash, lymphadenopathy, arthritis
Neonate –> PDA/pulmonary artery hypoplasia + cataracts + deafness; blueberry muffin rash
CMV
sex; organ transplant
Mom –> mono like Sx or no Sx
Neonate –> hearing loss, seizures, petechial rash, preiventricular calcifications, blueberry muffin rash, chorioretinitis
HIV
sex; needles
Mom–> depends on CD4 count
Neonates –> recurrent infections, chronic diarrhea
HSV 2
skin/mucous membrane contact
mom–> herpetic lesions
Neonates –> encephalitis, herpetic (vesticular lesions)
Syphilis
sex
Mom –> chancre (primary) disseminate rash (secondary)
Neonate –> still birth, hydrops fetalis
if alive –> facial abnormalities (notched teeth, saddle nose, short maxilla), saber shins, CN VIII deafness
