Q

What are the different mechanism involved in asexual reproduction and what happens during each step

A

fission:
- an organism divides into two seperate organism
- happens more commonly in unicellular organisms
Budding:
- this causes the offspring to be genetically identical to the parent as it a part of the cells of body part that pinches off
Fragmentation:
- the body will grow an extra part and break off a part of its body and regenerates a whole organism
Parthenogenesis:
- this is the development of an unfertilized egg
- produces an off spring that is 50-100% similar to the mother (only happens in females)
