Q

How did you do systematic sampling in human fieldwork

A

Measured on a main road in both areas of boscombe east and west. We measured 7 different factors: noise, greenary, condition of housing, safety whilst alone, litter/graffiti/vandalism. We measured using a bi-polar scale between -2 and +2

Q

Why is swanage beach an appropriate study location (3)

Q

How do geology maps show you how you location is suitable to study (physical)

A

The geology map shows swanage bay is on a discordant coastline and is on soft rock. This shows that is clearly an eroding coastline and will be managed by different techniques.

16
Q

What is random sampling

A

Where samples are chosen at random e.g picking pebbles on a beach

17
Q

What is systematic sampling

A

Where samples are chosen at regular intervals e.g number of pedestrians in an area

18
Q

What is stratiffied sampling

A

Choosing samples from different groups of people to get a good overall representation e.g asking people of different ages on their opinion on pollution in their area

19
Q

What is quantitative data

A

Numerical data. Things you can measure

20
Q

What is qualitative data

A

Information that cant be measured like peoples opinions
