A model showing a city center surrounded by concentric rings. Each ring is dedicated to producing certain products. This is determined by transportation costs. Moving from the market center:
- Ring 1: dairy, fruits, vegetables
- Ring 2: forest for wood
- Ring 3: grains and field crops
- Ring 4: ranching
