  2. Ppl brought paralytic man ♿️ , but cos there was such a crowd had to lower him in via hole in roof
  3. Jesus ‘saw his faith’ (the man) and told him his ‘sins are forgiven’
  4. Teachers 👨‍🏫 of law critical - jesus = blaspheming 🤬as ‘who can forgive sins but god alone’
  5. Jesus knows their 💭 + tells them that easier to say sins are forgiven then take up his 🛏 and walk 🕺 -> adds that Son of Man has authority to forgive sins
  6. Tells paralytic to get up and he does
  7. Everyone = amazed 😯 🤩 and they 🙏 god 👏

What does the healing of the paralysed man show about Jesus?

  1. Jesus = popular -> ppl curious 🤨 about who he is
  2. Ppl are divided -> some sceptical of his claims (blasphemous) or convinced (telling truth)
  3. Authority to forgive sins (which ppl at the time thought only god could do)
  4. Men who brought paralysed man to house showed faith - key theme in ✝️
  5. Has divine knowledge (knows what teachers of law are thinking)

  1. woman ill 🤒 for 12 years, incurable
  2. Touched Jesus’ cloak 🧥 + bleeding stopped 🩸 ✋
  3. Jesus asked who touched him ‘I know that power ✨ has gone out from me’
  4. Woman throws herself at Jesus’ feet. 🦶 Jesus says ‘daughter, go in peace, your faith 🙏 has made you well’

What does the story of the haemorrhaging woman show about Jesus?

  1. Jesus’ power greater than doctors (failed to heal her) instant healing
  2. Shows compassion to woman by talking + healing here
  3. Doesn’t care that she is ritually unclean according to Jewish law, and by touching jesus he is ritually unclean as well. Instead makes her clean
  4. Doesn’t have social status but woman’s faith was strongest and that healed her

    - > faith heals (only those who have faith get better)
  2. Spiritual health vs Physical health
    - > spirituality > physicality when he forgives paralysed man of sins BEFORE healing him
  3. Compassion
    - > no judgement / discrimination eg haemorrhaging woman + leper
  4. Son of God
    - > miracles prove divinity + set him apart from other preachers

  2. Belief that some ppl have gift of healing (eg mother t, lump) + there are special places eg Lourdes where god heals us
  3. Hope that you can pray for healing and it will happen

  1. Analysis -> importance doesn’t lie in detail and the physical miracles, it’s characteristics displayed by jesus in these that show he is son of god
  2. For -> if miracles are caused by supernatural agency and Jesus is the cause of miraculous healings and events in nature, then it follows that he must be God’s son
    - > miracles are often called signs because they are signs of his divinity and relationship with God
