Transparency - they are often secretive about money and where they get money from
Why are corporations an element of pressure politics?
-they play a crucial role in the economy therefore it is important for democracy that their voice is heard
-corporations have access to vast sums of money to lobby governments
Explain lobbying / lobbyists
-lobbyists are individuals who aim to influence government or advise others on how to influence government
- a big part of lobbyists work is getting their clients to the right people, which often relies on lobbyists knowing the right people
How much is the lobbying industry worth in the UK
Lobbying in the the UK is an industry worth an estimated £2billion per year and employs over 4000 people
