how does verenicline work
it is a nicotinic receptor agonist. it reduces the widthdral symptoms, reduces cravings and blocks the receptor bindings. beat placebo by 3-fold.
can bupropion and verenicline be used in pregnancy
They are both category C. they can be used, but discussion with the patient needs to be thoroughly laid out. cessation of smoking is important.
How is the gum used for cessation,
it should not be chewed continuously. it should be parked in the cheek after chewing briefly. the gum should not only be used when there are cravings.
