1
Q

para 1 agree (principles and key traits)

A

All nationalists believe that society is held together by widely held ideas and principles and that society is defined in terms of key traits. Thinkers like Garvey, Mazzini, Herder and Maurras are all different nationalists but agree that these values are crucial to the nation

Q

para 1 disagree (multi vs mono)

A

Liberal nationalists would argue that a number of different cultures and values can exist in a nation. Individuals like JJR support this progressive idea of multi-culturalism. On the other hand, conservative nationalists like Maurras and Herder support mono-culturalism, seeing that these particular traditions are what allow people together and that other cultures are not relevant (mono-culturalism)
