What does the intermediate pressure end of the alarm part group do?
Provides the air supply needed to drive the audible low air alarm.
Intermediate Pressure Over Pressure Relief Valve
It protects the system against IP over-pressurization. This
relief valve is set to open should there be a situation that causes the intermediate pressure (IP) to exceed
225 psig.

What does the first stage pressure reducer contain (4)
Pressure reduction components
Primary low air alarm activation and adjustment mechanisms
Intermediate pressure connection to the second stage regulator
High pressure transducer connection to the HEADS- UP DISPLAY (HUD)
What does the first stage pressure reducer lower the cylinder air pressure to
115 psi
When does the intermediate pressure relief valve activate and why?
To protect the system when the intermediate pressure exceeds 200 to 225 psi.
At what pressure does the warbling whistle or bell alarm activate?
1485 to 1665 psi
How is the pressure demand second stage regulator mounted on the facepiece?
Using the Honeywell AIRKLlC system. This mechanism automatically locks when the regulator is pushed into the AIRKLIC and is detached when both of the gray release buttons are
pressed.
2 ways the second stage regulator is activated
The First Breath On mechanism or the manual override button on the front of the regulator
How do you disengage the Second Stage regulator?
Press Shutoff button, then Air Klic buttons and remove from face piece.
How many Liters per minute does the second stage regulator supply air
350 LPM
Emergency bypass valve does what? During what kind of situations?
- Turning the bypass valve knob counterclockwise provides a constant flow of breathing air.
- Intended for emergency use only to supply breathing air should 2nd stage regulator failure occur.
- Can also be used as a de-fogger for mask
- Capable for supplying a maximum of
130 liters per minute of breathing air.
What does the manual override button on the second stage regulator do?
Provides the user with a burst of air, manually turns the regulator on.
Can be used to de-fog face piece.
What does the Shutoff button on second stage regulator do?
Shuts off airflow to the face piece
How many lights in the HUD and what do they mean
4 lights
Full- 4 green lights
¾- 3 Green lights
½- Green Light flashes for 20 seconds then both solid green
1/3- Light flashes red at rate of 500 milliseconds
10%- 1/3 light flashes at rate of 100 milliseconds
when bottle drops below 10% the red light flashes noticeably faster and continues until air
pressure drops below approximately 200 psi,
at which time the display will turn off
completely. There are no LEDs representing
zero air pressure.
External LED Locations
Front of the HUD
Lower right of the backpack
(displays same lights as the HUD)
How can you manually activate your PASS?
Hold the red button on the PASS for 2-3 seconds
Chest Air Pressure Gauge increments
From full “F” to empty “E” using
increments of 3/4, 1/2, and 1/3.
How can you reset a Full PASS Alarm?
Depress the yellow reset button twice on the side housing
The PASS staged alarm activates after how many seconds of no movement?
20 seconds
What happens if the Staged Alarm continues?
The alarm will increase in volume approximately every 4 seconds until full alert at 30 to 35 seconds. In full alert, the LED lights flash red and the alarm tones alternate between the front and rear mounted speakers.
PASS is powered by what
4 “C”
alkaline batteries in the backpack.
Motion reset points are located where and what is their purpose?
Located on the front PASS and in the rear PASS. This will reduce unwanted activations by 85%.
Emergency Breathing Support System (EBSS) purpose?
Intended to supply shared EMERGENCY
AIR to a fire fighter who has become lost,
trapped, or disoriented in an IDLH
environment.
EBSS works off of which bottle first?
The fuller bottle first, until both are equalized.
The SCBA with the higher dynamic intermediate pressure (70 -155 psi) will automatically supply both SCBA’s until that air is depleted.
Location & length of EBSS hose?
Left side, 39 inches
Universal Air Connection (UAC) Purpose and location
Located next to the
CGA handwheel for easy access. Connection
to the UAC via the mating fill coupling allows
a one direction flow of air into the user’s air
cylinder.
UAC is intended for refilling of an air
cylinder under an emergency situation.
Facepiece name and material
The TITAN Twenty/20+ facepiece is made of
butyl rubber which enables it to pass the
CBRN certification test.
Lens material / coating
Poly-carbonate lens, abrasion resistant coating outside, anti–fog solution inside
