Dx TIA
history and physical – pattern, vascular problems
CT, MRI, MRA – rule out hemorrhage
Carotid, Doppler studies – carotid stenosis
Echo – assess cardio source
treatment, TIA
Depends on cause
Small dose, aspirin, clopidogrel
Heparin, warfarin
Carotid endarterectomy
Carotid angioplasty
