What is personality?
The unique and relatively stable ways in which people think, feel and behave.
What is character?
The value judgement of person’s moral and ethical behaviour.
How does the psychodynamic perspective explain personality?
It focuses on the role of the unconscious mind in the development of personality. As well as focused on biological causes of personality differences. Sigmund Freud.
How does the behavioral perspective explain personality?
Based on the theories of learning. Focuses on the effect of the environment on behaviour and includes aspects of social cognitive theory in that, interactions with others and personal thought processes also influence learning and personality.
How does the humanistic perspective explain personality?
Focuses on the role of each person’s conscious life experiences and choices in personality development.
How does the trait perspective explain personality?
Is more concerned with the end result - the characteristics themselves .
