List two reasons of why the word became flesh and describe them

A

One of the reasons why the word became flesh is to be our model of holiness. Christ needed to become a human in order to help humans and show us how to serve each other and be concerned for others without being selfish.

Another reason why the word became flesh was to manifest the infinite depth of God’s love. God wanted to show humans love so that humans might do things and serve him out of love for him and not of fear of him. He also wanted to teach us that he chose to suffer and die to save humanity but he did it out of love. This helps add to the idea that there is no greater love than to lay down your life for a friend.

An aspect of redemption and a radical detachment from worldly possessions and coveting

43

We bring Jesus to the world
