What radical changes were made after the 1905 Revolution?
- October Manifesto created the Duma
- Stolypin was made head of government and was complicit in restoring order through repression and reforms
What was the Duma and was it significant in 1905?
A national parliament which had little significance as it was limited
What actions did Stolypin do?
Found 37,000 people guilty of political crimes.
What political oppression was used by 1907 and was it effective?
Surveillance and subversion and this was highly effective.
Why was the Duma good however?
Despite the Tsar retaining authority, it had parliamentary representation.

A family man who believed in autocracy and resisted any kind of reform.
