authority and provide a clear chain of command and set the tone/teachings of the organisation

in order for the system to operate there needs to be
an established and recognisable internal structure of roles and responsibilities and a rank order of influence and position.
what does the order of system ensure?
ensures strong lines of communication and cohesion
The Nature: refers
to how decisions are made and the complexity of the structure
The Role: refers to
continuity and change within the beliefs, and also traditions and how modernisation has changed the beliefs
Hierarchy: think
of a ranking system that organises itself on values and establishes status, power jurisdiction, system of subordinates (those with less power/authority to influence).
where do they exist?
within all social institutions which are large and complex
e.g.
Catholic church; pop, cardinals, archbishop, bishops, priests).
