what makes up the small intestine?
duodenum, jejunum and ileum
what are the differences between the jejunum and ileum?
jejunum is a deeper red, thick and heavy, fewer larger loops, long vasarecta, greater vascularity, few lymphoid nodules and less fat in mesentery
ileum is a pal pink, thin and light, many short loops, less vascularity, short vasarecta, many lymphoid nodules and more fat in mesentery
describe the features of the dudodenum compared to the other parts of the small intestine
it is the smallest, widest and most fixed part of the small intestine
what is the blood supply of the mid gut and where does this originate from?
superior mesenteric artery from a branch of the abdominal aorta L1
