Responsible for dioceses and do the sacrament of holy orders
Who are Priests?
are responsible for the spiritual care of the parish and celebrate sacraments

the congregation

.Means ‘teaching authority’
.Teaching authority of the Catholic Church who make teachings and decisions on things not mentioned in the bible
How is the pope infallible?
.Catholics believe the Holy Spirit guides the Pope in his decisions, therefore he is infallible

.Can be pontifical or conciliar
What is a pontifical mmagestrium?
.The Pope alone makes a teaching, ex cathedra, he is under the guidance of the holy spirit and so infallible
.An example would be the assumption of the virgin Mary
What is a conciliar magestrium?
.Pope calls together all the bishops to settle a problem or explore news questions facing the church
.Only been 21 councils
.These end with a written letter that explains what has been discussed
.The last was Vatican II in the 1960’s
