.Jesus founded the church and gave authority to the apostles
.Entrusted St Peter, the first pope, to be his representative on earth
.Faith preserved, taught and handed on by the apostles
Why do Catholics hold Mary is great honor?
She was chosen to be the human mother of God, without Mary there would be no Jesus, no incarnation and so no salvation
