What is meant by double circulation?
One circuit travels to the lungs and back to the heart. The other carries blood to the rest of the body and back.
What are Arteries?
Blood vessels that carry blood away from your heart.
What are Veins?
Blood vessels that carry blood towards from you heart.
How is the heart supplied with blood?
Through the Coronary Arteries.
What are the four chambers in the heart?
The right and left Atriums and the right and left Ventricles.
What is the difference between the Atriums and the Ventricles?
The ventricles are smaller and they have thicker, more muscular walls.
What veins transport blood from the body and into the Right Atrium?
The Superior and Inferior Vena Cava.
What Artery transports blood from the Right Ventricle and towards the Lungs?
The Pulmonary Artery.
What veins transport blood from the lungs and into the Left Atrium?
The Pulmonary Veins
What Artery transports blood from the Left Ventricle and into the body?
The Aorta.
