Carpal tunnel Syndrome Diagnosis
Special test: Tinel’s sign, Phalen’s sign & Durkans
ROM: Wrist flexion & pronation
Carpal tunnel differential diagnosis
Flexor carpi tendinopathy, cubital tunnel syndrome (referring from elbow down arm?), ganglion cyst or scapholunate ligament sprain
De Quervain’s diagnosis
Special test: Finklestein’s
ROM: Ulnar deviation & thumb abduction and extension?
Two muscles that control movement = abductor pollicus longus & extensor pollicus brevis
De Quervain’s differential diagnosis
OA, intersection syndrome, skier’s thumb, scaphoid fracture & flexor carpi tendinopathy
Normal ROM: Radial deviation
15 degrees
Normal ROM: Ulnar deviation
30 to 45 degrees
Normal ROM: Wrist flexion
80 to 90 degrees
Normal ROM: Wrist extension
70 to 90 degrees
Normal ROM Finger flexion
MCP: 85-90
PIP: 100-115
DIP: 80-90
Normal ROM: Finger extension
MCP: 30-45
PIP: 0
DIP: 20
Normal ROM: Thumb flexion & extension of MCP. Abduction.
50 to 55
