What are the negative effects of a volcano erupting?
The lava from a composite volcano, thin and runny, can destroy a large amount of area or even whole towns.
The amount of ash from a composite volcano can poison the air and harm people with asthma and create chemical processes with the clouds creating acid rain.

What other effects do volcanoes cause that can be harmful to people.
A powerful volcanic explosion/ eruption can trigger a chain of evens leading to other nearby volcanoes to erupt or earthquakes to appear with the change of the tectonic plates to the force of the explosion/ eruption.
