What are the nutrients in each food group?
Fruit & Veg = Carbohydrates, Vitamins C & A, Water
Starchy = Carbohydrates, B vitamins, Calcium
Protein = Protein, Fat, Vitamin D, Iron
Fatty = Carbohydrates, Fat
Dairy = Calcium, Protein, Fat, Vitamin D
8 tips for eating well
Base meals on starchy foods
Eat lots of fruit & veg (5 portions per day)
Eat more fish (2 per day, 1 oily)
Cut down on sat fat & sugar
Eat less salt (6g per day)
Get active & be a healthy weight
Drink plenty of water (8-10 glasses)
Don’t skip breakfast
