Q

how to reduce carbon dioxide emissions?

A
  • insulate homes or turn down heating (gas used in homes)
  • use public transport such as buses and trains as they release less CO2 per passenger (cars release CO2)
  • use renewable energy resources of electricity eg wind power
  • reduce how much electricity used in homes such as switching to energy saving lightbulbs and turning off appliances at the plug than leaving them on standby

Q

how to reduce methane levels? + problem

A
  • people eat less beef and less dairy products (cows release methane).
problem= people enjoy eating these + unlikely to change diet
  • in landfills, trap methane and burn it to produce electricity. good idea as methane a more powerful greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide
problem= trapping + burning methane costs money
