Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) is the most common cause of what?

Cyanotic heart disease

A
1-2 months.
But may not be picked up until 6 months old.

What are the 4 characteristic features of TOF?
A
- Centricular septal defect (VSD)
- Right ventricular hypertrophy
- Right ventricular outflow tract obstruction, pulmonary stenosis
- Overriding aorta

What kind of murmur can be heard?
A
AN ejection systolic murmur due to pulmonary stenosis.

What does a CXR show?
A
A boot shaped heart

What does the ECG show?
A
Right ventricular hypertrophy

How is it managed?
A
- Surgical repair is often undertaken in two parts
- Cyanotic episodes may be helped by beta-blockers to reduce infundibular spasm
