Confirm - Location, position & characteristics are noted Clear - Public cleared away, nearest first Cordon - Evac of nrby premises considered - CBRN affected to safe area awaiting IOR/medical aid Control - Inform ctrl - RVP designated and searched Check - Cordoned areas are clear - Secondary devices & hazards considered - More resources considered

What - What is is? Size, components & description Where - Where is it? Exact position. Map of approach route When - Exact time it was found - Has it been moved by anyone? Why - Why is it suspicious? - Any potential targets nearby (people or places) - Any suspects? Who - Who are the witnesses/informants Keep them available at the RVP point for the EOD officer
What is IVC?
Interagency Voice Communication The digital main scheme radio provides a number of talk-groups over which groups of radios can communicate. Some of these are common to radios from several agencies and are reserved for IVC.
