When can a MO be released from an incident?

A

It is essential that the MO ensures that the incident management plan is achievable and covers all foreseeable risks before considering leaving the incident. Generally, once a ‘stop’ on the incident has been achieved and an assessment of a continued attendance shows a decrease in resources, the MO can be released from the incident.

However, at protracted or resource intensive incidents there may be a requirement for the continued presence of a MO after the ‘Stop’ message and provision for this should be made within any relief plan.
