What is light ship?
-The weight of the vessel and all equipment with no fuel, passengers,cargo water……
What is Dead weight (DWT)
- The ships carrying capacity which includes cargo, fuel, water crew and effects.
What is length over all (LOA)
-The extreme length measured from the most aft point to the most fore point (stem or bulbous bow) of the vessel.
What is the length between perpendiculars (LBP)
- The distance measured along the summer load line from the aft to fore perpendicular.

What is the sheer?
-The longitudinal curve of the vessels decks in a vertical plane.
What is moulded beam/breadth
-The greatest distance between the inside of plating on the both sides of the vessel.
What is extreme breadth?
-Measured from one side to the other taking into account any overhang or flare.
What is moulded depth:
-Measured from the underside of the uppermost deck plating to the inner keel plating.
