What do the Vaibhasika and Cittamatra say about the simultaneous existence of cause and effect?
- Vaibhasika: cause and effect can be simultaneous (with respect to one place of reference)
- Cittamatra following scripture (accepting Alaya Vinjana): Cause and effect are simultaneous only on one occasion, which is the Alaya conciousness
3 pillars mutually support each other like a triangle tent. A cause of a result is a cause that helps the result to come into existence. The pillars are mutually helping each other and cause and effect can be simultaneous, Is that true?
(Personal answer only)
NO! Pillar A + B are together supporting Pillar C. Pillar B + C are mutually supporting Pillar A, etc., so the cause is not once the same, because the combination is always different. Furthermore the end result is a tent, or 3 balanced pillars and not one or two balanced Pillars. The cause is 2 Pillars/ the effect are 3 pillars.
