What do Svatantrika Madhyamka and Prasangika Madhyamka and the lower schools think about how Nirvana and full enlightenment is reached?
Svatantrika Madhyamaka:
When wanting Liberation for yourself you do not require the wisdom of emptiness, you only need to see the Emptiness of the autonomous substantial reality! Not the emptiness of true existence.
If you want to attain Buddhahood you need to eradicate the cognitive obscurations as well, you need to realize the emptiness of true existence
Prasangika:
When wanting to reach Nirvana or Buddhahood you have to have the wisdom of the emptiness of objective existence, = ultimate reality!
Without that you can’t even attain Nirvana!!!
Lower schools :
To attain the fearlessness (Nirvana, or personal liberation) you only need to eradicate the afflictive obscurations and for the full enlightenment you need to eradicate the cognitive obscuration!
