What are microfibers ?
Very fine fibres if fabric that are thinner than human hair 🤨
What are microfibers used for ?
When coiled they provide warmth, soft or absorbent material
Meaning they are often used in winter clothing or cleaning cloths
What is mircroencapsulation ?
A prices in which tiny particles or droplets are surrounded by a coating to make small capsules
This creates microspheres which gradually release active agents when rubbed, which rupture the thin walled membrane
What can microebcapsulation/ microspheres be used for ?
Smelling good to cover body of ours in sports clothing
Similar tech is used in scratch and sniff perfumes in magazines
Microebcapuslation in fibers can help to absorb sores and release heat keeping the user comfortable
Meaning ski wear, military uniforms, gloves and footwear
What are two real life examples of microencapsulation ?
- fragrances added to socks to disguise smelly feet
- anti allergen chemicals added to bedding to keep it prevent irritation

An antibacterial material that has antibacterial agents integrated into the fibre itself
This prevents bacteria formation and does not wash out
