A

Cavitating lesion - uncommon, could be something else
Lobar consolidation - upper lobe for TB
Diffuse small pacification’s - miliary TB (crucial to recognise given acute onset + potential TB affecting other organs)
Hilar lymphadenopathy - seen in TB

Why CXR findings both important + unimportant?

A

TB is diagnosed by sputum samples being sent for staining and culture
Therefore, CXR findings important in indicating sputum sampling, unimportant as absence of classical CXR findings doesn’t rule TB out
