What is taxation?

A

It is money that all businesses and households must pay to the government. In Ireland Texas are collected by revenue commissioners on behalf of the government.

A

A

What is PAYE?

A

It is income tax
It is a tax on your wage and salaries. You have to pay it by low and it is a progressive tax.
There are two rates 40% and 20%

A

Pay related social insurance

It is taken from the employees wages and pay revenue by employers
It is paid so employees can qualify for welfare by benefits in the future

Different routes supply to different sectors. The standard rate in Ireland is 23% but for hospitality is 13%.

A

It is a tax charged and all vehicles on public roads

The amount depends on emissions

They are charged on certain goods such as cigarettes and Vapes to discourage customers from using the product

They are tax on imported goods from outside the EU

What is tax avoidance?
This is when taxpayers take advantage of rules in the tax lot to reduce the amount of tax they owe this is legal E.g. Apple setting up businesses in Ireland so they can move profit to places that have lower corporation tax to increase their own profits

What is tax evasion?
It is when tax prior deliberately failed to pay the correct amount of tax they owe. It is illegal to do this.

They are higher prices as they have to buy things with the VAT It reduces the disposable income that households have Improved public services – tax revenue is used to improve educational healthcare et cetera
