Systems - Oxygen Flashcards
In what state is the crew O2 stored?
Gaseous.
What temp is the correct temp to use when considering Crew O2 bottle temp. Where can you find this temp information.
Cockpit temp, read on the MFD.
Where is the crew O2 bottle located?
In the cockpit behind the F/O elbow.
Where is the crew O2 pressure read?
MFD and O2 service port at the FWD right fuselage (No guage on bottle).
What modes do all crew O2 masks have?
1) 100% - gives 100% pure O2 on demand (default mode)
2) Emergency - gives 100% O2 under pressure
3) Normal - gives a mix of cockpit air and 100% O2.
What are some considerations when using the Emergency mode?
1) Must be used in smoke
2) Should be difficult to breath out (this is how you know you are in emergency)
3) to get from 100% to Emergency, rotate towards the Capt side (right to left).
How is passenger O2 generated?
Chemically.
How is pax O2 activated and how much O2 will be provided once activated?
Pull on lanyard to activate and it will provide about 12 mins of O2 once activated.
When will pax O2 masks drop automatically?
When in AUTO if the cabin alt reaches 14,000ft (+-500).
When will the seat belt and No Smoking signs come on automatically?
When the pax masks drop.
What happens when O2 masks are in the closed position? What about the manual position?
Closed - Pax O2 masks will not deploy automatically
Manual - Deploys pax O2 at any altitude.
How do you know if the pax O2 masks have been deployed?
Indicator light will be ON.
How many additional O2 bottles do we have for emergency use. What is the pressure requirement for dispatch.
2 bottles. Require 1200psi and 30 mins for dispatch.
