With the AP off, when is the only time the PF can touch the FGC?
Only to turn the AP on. Until AP is on the PM makes all changes on the FGC.
After the AP is engaged, what can the PF do with the FGC?
Anything except altitude select changes.
What does the CPL button do?
selects whose data (Capt or FO) the AP will follow.
When you turn on the AP, what basic modes do you get?
Pitch and Roll.
When does will the YD automatically engage?
When AP is turned on
When engaging the YD manually, what is the min Alt it can be engaged after takeoff? What is the min alt to have the YD engaged during a CAT 1 approach? Cat II Approach?
1) 400AGL after takeoff
2) 200 AGL cat I
3) 50 AGL cat II
When you are in PIT mode, what will the AP do? When you are in ROL mode what will the AP do?
PIT = Hold whatever pitch attitude you are in
ROL = Hold whatever bank angle you are in.
What will hitting FLC do when engaged on departure?
Follow our standard dep profile:
1) 240 kts to 10,000
2) Level at 10k to 270kts
3) 270 kts to FL180
4) .56 mach to Altitude.
What will FLC do when engaged on a descent?
1) 2000 FPM down to 12k
2) 1000 FPM from 12k to 10k
3) 1000 FPM down the rest of the way.
What will happen when you push VS or SPD mode?
the veritcal speed or speed you are flying will be captured and you can use the selector to change as needed.
What does it mean when:
1) You have a green PFD inscription
2) You have a white PFD inscription
3) You have a Green in White Box PFD inscription
1) Green is what you are doing
2) White is what is armed to do next
3) Green in White Box is capturning what you asked it to do.
What happens when you push the NAV or FMS button once on the Displays control? What happens when you push it twice?
Once = gives same side short range NAV or long range FMS
Twice - gives cross side short range NAV or long range FMS (will be yellow for caution).
What will the ptich and turn knobs on the Autopilot controller do if you move them and the AP is engaged?
They will over-ride any verticle or lateral modes you have selected on the FGC.
What does TKNB mean when displayed on the PFD?
TKNB = Autopilot Turning Knob
if Green = AP engaged
if Amber = AP not engaged.
What should you consider with regard to setting up your HSI when flying a LOC/BC approach?
Put the needle on the reciprocal to the back course to avoid reverse sensing.
