Systems - Landing Gear/Brakes Flashcards
Does the landing gear free fall or is it hydraulic powered when you lower the landing gear handle?
Hyd power releases the locks and gear free falls into place. Hyd actuated gear doors close
How much steering available with Rudder pedal?
7 degrees
How much steering available with tiller?
70 degrees
How much nose wheel deflection before main gear steering is active?
13 degrees
When the gear is retracted and the nose landing light and taxi light switches are on do they stay on?
No they are turned off via logic
How does the landing gear alternate extension work?
Dedicated DC pump uses center hyd system fluid to release all doors and gear uplocks. The doors remain unlocked forcing an EICAS expanded gear synoptic
How fast do you have to be at to have the RTO function on takeoff?
85 kts
When do the autobrakes work on landing?
Only during normal brake system function
* wheels spun up
* thrust levers retarded to idle
When do you get MAX AUTOBRAKES on landing?
When selected and limited to AUTOBRAKE 4 level until pitch angle is less than 1 degree
If you change the deceleration level by rotating the selector will this disarm the system (like from 4 to 3)?
No
When would the antiskid system provide paired wheel rather than individual protection?
ALTN/RSV brakes
After an aggressive braking effort, where would you look to identify any problems?
GEAR synoptic
When would brake temps reach maximum value?
If using EICAS BTMS 12-15 minutes after
How would you know if you had blown tires?
GEAR synoptic would show 0 tire pressure in amber
When would you expect to see an expanded gear display?
During any type of gear component position disagree
